Our customer is a popular Residential and Commercial service provider that often acquires other organizations within the same industry. 

Post-acquisition, our customer wanted to identify duplicate apps or where contracts could be merged between the two companies They wanted to report spend by entities so they could accurately report on budgets. 

  • Due to the decentralized SaaS buying and management processes, the IT team lacked visibility into what vendors were paid and which apps were used for the acquired company.

Identifying spend by each entity and cost center

In CloudEagle terms, an entity is the acquired organization. 

  • SSO, finance, and HRIS system integration enabled CloudEagle to gain complete visibility over the entity’s application stack, app usage insights, vendor spend, and department-wise spend data. 
  • Using our platform’s reports module, the customer generated reports showing the spend by each entity and cost center spanning from the entity’s inception to the present day.

The Impact


Usage visibility: Thanks to CloudEagle’s integrations, the customer was able to see all the applications used by the entity, including users that were logging in and who were not using these apps.

App usage data revealed the usage patterns of the entity’s employees, revealing a considerable amount of unused licenses and wasted dollars for the customer.

This centralized visibility helped our customer’s IT team identify overlapping applications and unused licenses, paving the way for optimization and resulting in substantial savings on SaaS expenses.
